A Teaching Practice Built on a Performing Life
I did not become a vocal coach by standing outside the stage looking in. I came to teaching through my own life as a singer — through rehearsals, auditions, demanding repertoire and the moments when the voice does not do what you expect.
My career has moved between opera houses, theatre stages, recording studios and festival circuits in Russia, Europe and the United States. That range is why my studio spans musical theatre, world music, art song and Russian operatic repertoire rather than a single lane.
In Los Angeles I have taught at the French Conservatory of Music in Beverly Hills, served on juries for international vocal competitions, and worked with performers preparing for professional contracts, college programs and first auditions alike.
How I teach: I am interested not only in how a voice sounds, but in why something works, why it stops working, and how to give a singer tools they can use when the stakes are real. Lessons are diagnostic first, repertoire-driven second, and always aimed at a result you can repeat on an ordinary day.
